Websites With Accessibility

The Frustration

Imagine searching for websites with accessibility and when you finally get there and you can’t access the information. How frustrating would that be?

One Trillion Dollar Spending Power.

26% of adults in the US have a disability. Websites with accessibility open the door for this group of people with over 1 Trillion dollars in spending power.

Additionally, if a disabled person finds your website to be accessible, they will keep coming back. And they will likely tell their friends and family about your site. You will have an even bigger audience.

Avoid a Lawsuit

According to the American Bar Association, there were over 8,000 digital accessibility lawsuits filed from 2017 – 2020. This doesn’t include the many demand letters received due to a lack of website accessibility. Those who fought it in court generally lost and had to pay the award plus the plaintiff’s legal fees which are costly. See The American Bar Association’s article “The Law on Website and Mobile Accessibility Continues to Grow…”

What Does the Law Say?

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) includes websites among public services that must be accessible. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) work alongside the ADA to further define website accessibility. What you are looking for is compliance with the WCAG 2.1 level AA and compliance with all international accessibility laws. When making your website compliant with these laws, we provide a certificate of compliance.

For a complete checklist of what is needed to meet the WCAG guidelines see Yale University’s “WCAG 2 A and AA Checklist”

It’s the Right Thing to Do

The right thing to do is to build a ramp or elevator where there are stairs to access a business open to the public. It’s also the right thing to do to provide accessibility to your website.

This is a Decision You Can Feel Good About

It’s a good feeling to know you are being inclusive of people with disabilities. Websites with accessibility are equally accessible to all people online.

How We Make Your Website Accessible

We use special software that provides accessibility options to people with disabilities. This software audits your website and lets us know what changes need to be made. The adjustments it makes to your website, are browser and assistive technology compatible. It certifies that your website is compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines – which makes you compliant with all international accessibility standards!

We then make all minor adjustments that do not affect the quality of your site. The software remains on your site but does not make any permanent changes to your website. Instead, it offers adaptations for people with disabilities while they are visiting your website. Your site will appear unmodified to everyone else who does not select the accessibility adaptations.

The software offers access to people with vision impairment, blindness, cognitive impairment, motor impairment, hearing impairment, seizure disorder, and ADHD.

The Adaptations We Make Available Include but are Not Limited to:

Vision Impairment Options:
Enlarging text
Magnifying text
Providing more contrast for text
Screen reader access
Keyboard navigation
A bright line that moves with the cursor to underline the text chosen
Enlarging the Cursor
Making the cursor black or white

Motor Impairment Options:
Keyboard navigation
Larger buttons

Cognitive Impairment Option:
The main points appear boxed to highlight them, making website copy easier to understand

Seizure Safe Mode:
All movement by the website is frozen
Bright colors are dimmed

ADHD Options
Provides masking that moves with the cursor to bring focus to a few lines at a time
All movement is frozen

Hearing Impairment
Closed Captioning: full, time-synchronized text and background sound descriptions

The Benefits of Websites With Accessibility

Websites with accessibility are available to all persons with disabilities. They are inclusive.
People with disabilities in the United States alone have one trillion-dollar spending power.
People with disabilities will recommend websites with accessibility to their friends and family.
Meeting the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines prevents costly accessibility lawsuits.
Knowing that you have done the right thing. You’ve followed the law and haven’t left out nearly a third of the population.

Optimizing LinkedIn – 7 Tips for Generating Leads on LinkedIn

Nate Online Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Social Media Optimization 0

Curious about generating leads on LinkedIn? It may be an online network that connects professionals, but it’s not just another social network —it’s the largest business-oriented social network in the world, with over 830 million users (and counting). If you’re using LinkedIn as part of your lead generation campaign, there are some top ways to optimize your experience and win more leads from LinkedIn. Let’s take a look at 7 tips for optimizing LinkedIn to win more leads.

1) Check if LinkedIn is Right for You

Generating leads on LinkedIn can be powerful, but it’s not right for everyone. If you’re in the business-to-business space or are looking for referral partners, LinkedIn is a great place to start. But, if you’re selling products to consumers, you might want to focus your efforts elsewhere.

2) Develop A Perfect LinkedIn Profile

Generating leads on LinkedIn is a fantastic addition to your lead-generation strategy! By optimizing different parts of your LinkedIn profile, you can set yourself up for success and start generating more leads.

People on LinkedIn look at your profile to see if they want to connect. By making each part the best salesperson for you, you will get more quality connections. For example, create a profile picture that is eye-catching. Wear a bright color or have a bright background. Keep the background simple. Or even add a video 3-30 seconds long. View my LinkedIn profile for inspiration and connect!

3) Give and Get Recommendations

Recommendations are powerful. Be sure all your happy clients give you a recommendation on LinkedIn. You can give them a set of questions to answer to guide them on what to write. For example: “What drew you to my business?” and “What specific need did I address for you?” Be sure to give a lot of recommendations, too. You can recommend colleagues because you know them. Then ask them to return the favor. Recommendations can also be by those who know you but are not your clients. All LinkedIn recommendations can only be done between connections.

4) Give and Get Endorsements for Your Skills

Optimizing a LinkedIn profile should include a great list of skills. Be sure they are the skills you want to promote. Ask people that you know to endorse your skills. Include your happy clients.

Be sure to give endorsements as well of people you know. Then ask them to return the favor. All endorsements on LinkedIn must be done by those who are connected.

5) Post the Right Content

The key to winning on LinkedIn is to post the right content. You need to give value. Include tips, educate, and inspire. Show your expertise. What makes you stand out from the crowd? Address your target market’s pain points. Limit promotion of your business to 20%, or 1 in 5 posts.

6) Connect With the Right People

An important step to optimizing LinkedIn and winning more leads is connecting with the right people. You want to connect with your target market. By doing this, you’ll be able to reach a larger audience and generate more leads. Learn more about defining your target market. Ideal networking on LinkedIn includes connecting with potential referral partners. Lastly, be sure to connect with influencers in your field. By doing this you will be able to reach more leads.

7) Follow up On Leads

If you’re not already optimizing LinkedIn as part of your lead generation strategy, you’re missing out. By following these five simple tips, you can greatly increase the number of leads you generate online.
